Make your selection:

Learn to be an effective co-driver

Patience is a virtue, especially when it comes to teaching someone to drive. Practice makes perfect, no matter what skill you are trying to master.

Each YD student will be taught a variety of techniques in the vehicle. It takes time and experience to learn to do anything well. This is where the co-driver comes in.

When your teenager, friend, or spouse has enrolled in a Young Drivers of Canada course and you are the designated co-driver, you can take advantage of our online co-driver program. It's free!

Ask the YD Centre for your user ID and password. Click here for the Co-driver site.

Co-driver program participants will learn:

  • The Collisionfree! Approach
  • What to do (and what NOT to do) from the passenger seat
  • How graduated licensing affects you and your new driver
  • How to avoid passing along poor driving habits
  • Make the most of the time you spend helping the new driver.
  • The YD co-driver program explains the risks, offers effective YD solutions, and teaches you how to stay safe while co-driving.

And there's something for everyone. Learn new techniques and/or refresh your skills. We can help!
